Feasts of Our Lady's Birth and Holy Name

I regret not having posted this prayer earlier.  It was one I found in a book of Italian prayers, and it was so beautiful, I just had to translate and share it!  Sweet little Mary, pray for us!

Prayer to the Infant Mary

Hail Mary Child, little One of the Father, your face radiates the Divine Grace of God as the moon reflects the sun. While you sleep, the angels around your cradle sing sweet melodies. Help me to call Him Father and to respect His commandments.

Hail, Child Mary, modest dawn of the Holy Ghost, your approval, you will one day give to the angel who kneels by your side. While I wander like a lost sheep along the path of life, place your tiny and delicate hand in mine and lead me to the eternal abode .

Hail Mary Child, Virgin and Mother of the Son, now your young life rests in the cradle. One day, you will stand under the Cross in the depths of pain. O my God, Holy and Triune, I love to meditate on Thy existence as I love to sing to Thy little Child Blessed Mary, who is Thy Daughter and also Thy pure Spouse and Mother of Thy Son.

August 22 - The Immaculate Heart of Mary

"My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge,

and the path that will lead you to God!"

~ Our Lady's words to Lucia

A  beautiful devotion for anyone who might want to offer extra reparation, especially on Our Lady's feasts:

Chaplet of Praise to Mary as An Act of Reparation

(prayed on ordinary Rosary beads)

Introductory Prayer

Mary, my Immaculate Mother, I desire to offer thee reparation for the offenses which thine Immaculate Heart receives from the horrible blasphemies which are uttered against thee. I offer thee these praises to console thee for so many ungrateful children who do not love thee, and to console the Heart of thy Divine Son Who is so deeply offended by the insults offered to thee.
Receive, my purest Mother, this little act of homage. Make me love thee more each day and look with pity on those blasphemers that they may not delay to cast themselves into thy maternal arms. Amen.

On each single bead, say the following aspiration

Grant that I may praise thee, O Holy Virgin!                                                                                                                     Give me strength against thine enemies.

On each of the 10 beads say:

  1. Blessed be the great Mother of God, Mary Most Holy!
  2. Blessed be her Holy and Immaculate Conception!
  3. Blessed be her Glorious Assumption!
  4. Blessed be the Name of Mary, Virgin and Mother!
  5. Blessed be her Immaculate Heart!
  6. Blessed be her Virginal Purity!
  7. Blessed be her Divine Maternity!
  8. Blessed be her Universal Mediation!
  9. Blessed be her Sorrows and her tears!
10. Blessed be the graces with which the Lord crowned her Queen of Heaven and Earth!

After each decade:

Glory be to Mary, Daughter of the Father!
Glory be to Mary, Mother of the Son!
Glory be to Mary, Spouse of the Holy Ghost!

My Mother, I love thee for those who do not love thee;
     I praise thee for those who blaspheme thee;
I surrender myself to thee for those who will not recognize thee as their Mother

                                      ----------------------------------------

The above praises were published in Peru with the Imprimatur of the

Archbishop of Lima on October 26, 1953.

Home Shrines for Our Lady

Shrine #7 - this is the shrine in Sr. Vianney's room at the convent.  You may not be able to tell, but the hands of Our Lady are missing!  The statue is from my 1st Holy Communion, and the hands broke many years ago.  It reminds me that I am supposed to be  Mary's hands in the world today.  And those other two statues ...they are my guardian angel and St. John Vianney.  :-)

Shrine #6 - The Convent shrine just outside our chapel

Shrine #5 - The Drahman family outdoor shrine...such pretty flowers!

Shrine #4 - from Rachel and Lola - Our Lady, Star of the Sea!"

 Shrine #3 - from Amy

Shrine #2 - from Kaila, Mari and Christiana

Here is the first picture of a home May shrine ... thanks to Natalie for sending it in.  Hope to see a few others soon!  God bless you.
